The Holy Bible - Amazing Book

Psalm 40:7 "…in the volume of the book it is written of me".
The psalmist is not referring to himself. Psalm 40:6-9 is prophetic and refers to The Lord Jesus Christ.

Luke 24:44 Jesus said, "…These are the words…which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me."

Hebrews 10:7 "…in the volume of the book it is written of me (Christ)…"

Acts 10:43 "To him (Christ) give all the prophets witness…"

Let's think of some well-known persons: George Washington, Barack Obama, Sir. Winston Churchill, Margaret Thatcher, Premier Danny Williams. Did anyone predict 500 years before their birth that any of these would become political leaders? Of course not! That would be impossible.

But consider one amazing book–The Holy Bible. The central character is the only man in the history of the world who had explicit details of his birth, life, death and resurrection made public hundreds of years before his birth. The Lord Jesus Christ is the only person ever born into this world whose ancestry, date of birth, place of birth, manner of birth, infancy, manhood, teaching, miraculous works, preaching, reception, rejection, death, burial, resurrection and ascension were all recorded in documents centuries before his birth. Only one person could work such a miracle–the one, true God. 2 Peter 1:21 tells us "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by The Holy Ghost (God)". Those documents have been preserved for us by God and they now form the first part of The Holy Bible known as the Old Testament. In all of the world's literature, there has never been any other book, secular or religious, that can duplicate the astounding miracle of the pre-written life of Christ. The Holy Bible is truly an amazing book.

In the second part of The Bible, known as the New Testament, God provides for us the record of the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies. No mere human can know what the future holds. Proverbs 27:1 "Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth." Only an all-powerful and an all-knowing God can infallibly predict the future. The Old Testament contains many specific, detailed prophecies/predictions concerning The Lord Jesus Christ. The New Testament records their complete fulfillment in every last detail–400 to 1,500 years later.

What do you think of The Bible? Do you believe, as I do, that this amazing book is inspired and preserved by God. When I read it, God speaks to me. Perhaps you think The Bible is just an ancient book, irrelevant for modern society. Perhaps you have never read The Bible. Let me suggest that if you approach The Bible with an open mind, and undertake a serious study of the prophecies concerning The Lord Jesus Christ, you will come to the conclusion that The Holy Bible is an amazing book—that the God of The Bible is the God of all truth and that The Lord Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. In John 14:6 Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also…"

Do you know God? The only way to know God is to come to know his Son, The Lord Jesus Christ, the savior of mankind.

John 3:16,17 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
