There is Forgiveness

"But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared."
Psalm 130:4

Just recently I was reading the story of the original sin in the Garden of Eden with my youngest daughter. The story emphasized the results of sin-broken fellowship with God and expulsion from the paradise God had created for Adam and Eve. Yet, even in this saddest of times, The Lord God had already put into place a glorious plan of salvation through which all who come to Him could be forgiven (Genesis 3:15).

In Psalm 130:4, we see that the result of forgiveness should be “fear”. This is the reverential awe, worship, and respect that The Lord God deserves. You see, God created man and woman in His own image so that He might fellowship with them, but that fellowship was broken by sin. In Genesis 3:8, we see Adam and Eve running from the Lord God instead of to Him. The consequences of sin caused Adam and Eve to run and hide from God, rather than enjoy the sweet fellowship of His presence as they had done every evening until this point.

Friends, God also wants to fellowship with you and He wants your praise and adoration. If you have never been born-again (saved, redeemed) then that is where you must begin. You must confess your sinfulness to Almighty God and ask for His forgiveness (Romans 3:23; 5:8; 6:23; 9:10,11,13). Our God is ready to abundantly pardon and forgive all who come to Him. If you are saved, but you are out of fellowship with God, then let me encourage you to confess your sin to Him and receive His wonderful forgiveness (1 John 1:9).

Psalm 130:7 reads, "Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption." The Lord Jesus Christ wants to bestow His mercy and redemption upon you today. Ask Him for it.
